Using AI guidance

ReadySOC includes an AI assistant that gives you specific, actionable guidance for every control. Instead of Googling "what does CC6.1 mean," you get a tailored answer in seconds.
What AI guidance provides
For each control, the AI generates three sections:
- Evidence required — The specific document types an auditor will want to see for this control.
- Implementation steps — Concrete actions you can take today to implement the control.
- Audit questions — The questions auditors typically ask about this control during a review, so you can prepare your answers.
How to use AI guidance

Open a control
Go to Controls and click on any control to open the detail panel.

Click "Get AI compliance guidance"
Scroll to the bottom of the detail panel and click the button. The guidance appears in a few seconds.

Act on the guidance
Use the evidence list to know what to upload, the implementation steps to know what to build, and the audit questions to prepare your team.
Important: AI guidance is a starting point, not a guarantee. Always verify guidance with your auditor or a qualified compliance professional before finalizing your approach. SOC 2 requirements can vary based on your specific systems and scope.
Tips for getting the most out of AI guidance
- Update the control's status before running guidance — the AI tailors its response based on where you are.
- Run guidance for your highest-risk controls first (those marked Not started with no owner).
- Share the guidance output with the control owner so they know exactly what's expected of them.
